SALES & WANTS / Pimp my Tri
« on: December 28, 2011, 04:04:14 pm »
I need the full kit.. well - I have standard trainers and stuff for standard running around..
And I'm not sure whether that'll do for the tri.. I don't even know if you jump in the water with normal shoes on?
I know I need a bike - Cycling ain't easy without it.
And I need a wetsuit. I've seen some ok (used once) wetsuits.. About ?60?
And bike I am hoping I'll get one second hand between ?300/?400 and up til then I'll muddle along on a mountain bike.
Any other essentials that I'm ignoring.. Oh - Any suggestions on helmets as those with sufficient airholes to avoid pickling my head seem to be around ?60 and above.. that right?
And are there magic shoes that you can run underwater and clip into the pedals and.. Or is that what this transition gubbins is about?
Anyway - I've got a few months to fumble to competence but any beginners kit ticklist and what items of kit are really worth investing in that'd be great.
(this is really just me getting rolling on the forum - thanks for setting up!)
p.s - How long is the Denham bikeride at weekends usually? - and could you manage on a Mountain bike?
