Hi Gary

Just MHO:  If you want a new on, it may be worth waiting for the start of the open water season (around April/May), unless you really need one before that.  A couple of the lakes have their chosen brand that you can try before you buy, which is the best way to do it if you want to justify your money.  Liquid has 2XU, Heron has um, can't remember and Princes had another brand at certain times. We did have Zone3 come and visit the pool once and a few of us bought those.
Another option is to go to the TriUK store, bit of a drive though, where they have an endless pool to try out the wetsuits.  Some retailers might allow you to try the wetsuit in the pool and send back if it doesn't fit, but worth checking beforehand.
:)

Hi Gary

Just following up on what colette said. Don't bother getting a wetsuit until the open water season starts and then try a few out beforehand at the lakes. Liquid leisure do 2XU wetsuits and heron lake do Xterra wetsuits. You can hire them out on the day you swim at the lake for a small hire fee. Also over the weekend of the 2-4th March 2012 there is the triathlon show at sandown park, surrey this is well worth visit, This is where i first went last year before i done my first triathlon race and tried on a few wetsuits off the stalls just to get a idea for what size i need and what felt comfortable. I then rented a wetsuit for the season just in case i didn't enjoy triathlons & open water swimming from a company call "my wetsuit hire" who also had a stall at the TCR show then at the end of the season i had the choice of sending the wetsuit back or buying the wetsuit outright which i did.  Check it out http://tcrshow.com/
